Martha's is your quintessential neighborhood breakfast joint on the beach. On the weekends, the waiting list line extends around the block and the locals are pulled up the the checkered table cloth tables in their bikinis, board shorts and dogs--enjoying their breakfast (or lunch) fare.
Martha's is the perfect place when you are craving a hearty breakfast consisting of the works (eggs, pancakes, toast, home-style fries, and a happy belly). The service is no nonsense but efficient and the food hits the spot. The menu features the usual suspects like omelets and french toast but they actually feature very boutique 'eggs Benedict' and 'scrambles' sections that give you options for your scrambled eggs and what comes with your eggs Benedict (other than the standard hollandaise sauce).
The orange juice is fresh squeezed and the blueberry pancakes look amazing (I'm still mad I didn't order them).
Definitely prepare to wait at least 20 minutes on weekends (around brunch time) but the wait is worth it. Nothing beats breakfast at the beach!
Easy access, great location, and good food (not amazing, but perfectly solid). Great spot for locals. My only wish is that the servers were friendlier. They're helpful and courteous, but you just don't get a very warm vibe. Not enough to deter us from the great, sunny, beachside location though.
Since there is always a wait here on the weekend, my tip is to go across the street, to the Green Store and get an orange juice while you wait. They don't have any special OJ, just minute maid, but it really helps to keep everyone in better spirits while waiting.
