I first got on this blog to discuss my first passion which is books. Since I have gotten on I find that books are only a piece of this blog and I can discuss just about anything that comes to mind. It is a lot of fun to just take off and start typing about something I really like.
I love to be active and go to a gym several days a week. My workouts consist of cardio, weights and martial arts. I try to cross train for both the physical advantages as well as the mental. I love variation.
I enjoy public speaking and am an active member of Toastmasters International.
I love movies and a handful of television programs. I read other folks' reviews on this blog to get ideas on additional things to try out and to get inspired on writing up new reviews.
Since books are my first passion, here is a little about what I like to read.
I enjoy good historical novels, scifi, biographies and interesting non-fiction. I like some horror too. My favorite authors include:
Robert J. Sawyer, Orson Scott Card, Ben Bova, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, John Steinbeck, James Michener, John Jakes, Ken Follett, early Stephen King, early Dean Koontz,Robin Cook, Michael Connolly, Gary Jennings, Robert Graves, Ayn Rand
My favorite genres are:
- Historical Fiction
I like some horror but I am not a big fan of Anne Rice (though Interview With the Vampire was a great book - the succeeding vampire books were boring and painful to read). I like early Stephen King but none of his books after Misery.
