Claire wants to prove to an old friend that her family means more to her then a career, so naturally the family acts bat sh** insane during this time. Meanwhile Mitchell investigates Glorias car accident and is the last to realize that Gloria is a terrible driver and Jay and Cameron touch butts....each others.

This episode, while not one of my favorites of the season so far, it still had many memorable moments.      It started with Claire telling the family she is going to see a friend she used to work with. Luke then says he can’t imaging her working and Phil chimes in and says that was very offensive to women and that your mom works very hard, but now she works for us. Some of the funniest parts of the show are when the characters are talking to the faux-documentary camera. …

Moon Landing is the name of the fourteenth episode of the series Modern Family' season 1. It premiered on American Broadcasting Company. The air date was originally supposed to be January 27, 2010, but will be preempted by the State of the Union and pushed back a week to February 3, 2010. In the episode, Claire (Julie Bowen) feels slightly inadequate when her old friend, Valerie (guest star Minnie Driver), visits and is nothing like Claire remembered. Meanwhile Jay (Ed O'Neill) has an unsettling locker room moment when he and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) go play racquetball, and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) tries to help Gloria (Sofía Vergara) with some legal problems.

The episode was written by Bill Wruber and directed by Jason Winer. The episode aired in the United States on February 3, 2010 on ABC and achieved a Nielsen Rating of 3.9/10, attracting 9.07 million viewers. The episode received positive reviews from critics.
