If a movie plays at the Multiplex, cost zillions and makes millions, should it be automatically excluded from this group? I thought we were supposed to hype obscure movies.

Obscure means you HAVE TO review Inception.

Obscure is something either old, underappreciated and does not have the massive promotion that mainstream movies have. The Movie Hype is all about movie tastes and what each of us want to share.

For me obscure simply means that it's not currently on the radar for the majority of movie-goers. So obscure could be a classic film that perhaps doesn't get the recognition it deserves or it could be an indie film that's yet to make its way into the public's consciousness.
