I think it tends to be the same old, same old with superhero movies. There's definitely a been there, done that attitude amongst moviegoers. I'd LOVE to see some female superheroes for once. Hopefully, this will be a lesson to the male studio heads to finance movies that show females kicking butt and rescuing the world or their loved ones. 3D isn't going to help you. I know that my friends and myself aren't the demographic audience for this but, I usually save money and head to the 2D version. I often find that I'm not missing much by doing this!
Personally, I do not believe there are too many superhero movies, and this has very little to do with 3D and any of that other crap they're spewing. I think this particular group of superheroes were just treated poorly through out the years (and they said something similiar in that article too). I mean Thor and Green Lantern especially have never received any type of mainstream boost EVER! And they been around longer or just as long as several of the characters with multiple movies. I mean hell, look at the video games, Thor was actually in the Inifinity Gauntlet, but he didn't make it to the Marvel Super Heroes game? Hell no, Shura-Gorath, Blackheart, Juggernaut, and Psylocke made it there before him, and they weren't even in the main story! In the case of X-Men, I think people are either tired of them, or they want a true sequel.
