Hold That Ghost is one of those rare comedies that
stands the test of time through many generations.
This '41 film was a big hit when it came out and
still is. Who can forget the famous scene with
Lou Costello dancing while Joan Davis knocked
him on both sides of the jaw with her elboes
to the tune of The Blue Danube Waltz?

Chuck Murray (Bud Abbott) and Ferdie Jones (Lou Costello)
were the accidental inheritors of a tavern said to contain
a huge cash stash "in his head". A small expedition heads
for the tavern when the parties clash with gangsters seeking
to locate the loot. All hell breaks lose; however, Ferdie
figures out by accident just where the loot is hidden.

In some respects, this comedy mirrors It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad
World with Spencer Tracy. Both comedies have commonality in a
huge crowd of people chasing a hidden stash of cash which is
uncovered in a most unexpected place.

Chuck Murray (Bud Abbott) and Ferdie Jones (Lou Costello) use the found
money to transform the tavern into a health resort. They hire Ted Lewis and
His Orchestra together with The Andrews Sisters to provide the
entertainment. This comedy is timeless both in the movie theme, as well
as the high quality of the acting team and the music accompaniment.
