Pros: Cuba Gooding, Jr.

Cons: quite a few

Cuba, Cuba ... did you have a contract obligation to fill? Truthfully, the movie itself wasn't all that bad but it was a detriment to Gooding rather than a highlight. Gooding is such a fine actor he was even able to help this turkey fly (wait, turkeys don't fly!) wobble a straight line. Sometimes he is just so cute you just want to hug him.

This poorly written, poorly directed turkey centers around a missing/stolen chemical warfare (God Bless America) bomb like thingy known as "Elvis". A nasty little creature on the loose that must be kept below 50 degrees to keep him happy. Enter Cuba with a stolen (procured?) ice cream truck. Who knows why or who knows how. While keeping Elvis on ice the truck has a mishap, spilling out the ice cream, Elvis and Cuba. I know, there are other people involved here too but I can only remember Cuba. Cuba and friend, ummmmm, procure a boat , fill it with ice cream, slide down an unbelievable hill with the boat and land in the river (fed by glacier runoff). There of course will be rapids and drop-offs to add to the mix.

Just a long line of unbelievable things these two get into. Thus making the movie somewhat boring and trite. Of course, there are bad guys chasing them wanting Elvis and there are good guys chasing them wanting Elvis. There is the Army and the Rangers. Somehow these two guys manage to stay ahead of everyone for quite some time.

In the end of course, the bad guys get Elvis but the good guys arrive just in time. They seal the bad guys in a big cave, there is a fire, Elvis has a fever. A really cool explosion and some really neat face melting on the bad guys behalf. Actually, probably the only gory part of the movie, but so slight not even mentionable as gory.

Unfortunate that there was not a better attempt to give this a good story line or some meat or something worth watching other than Cuba but you can't have it all I guess. An OK movie if you don't have anything else on the bill for the night, but spend a few extra minutes at Blockbuster and find a better selection.
