A Title That Doesn't Describe the Main Character

Star Rating: Country Strong is a fairly reliable celebrity drama, although it’s not particularly original and it would have worked a lot better were it not for an unearned, shamelessly soapy ending. As had already been proven by her appearance on the TV show Glee, it is clear that Gwyneth Paltrow can sing...I mean REALLY sing...not just make a show of it. I didn't go into this movie with high expectations because the critics hadn't been very kind, and perhaps that was a good thing--I actually enjoyed it a good bit more than I'd expected.
