Dr. Horrible wants to be a super villain and begins his own video blog. He really wants to be a member of the prestigious Evil League of Evil but his plans are ruined by Captain Hammer, an egotistical superhero. Then Horrible falls in love with Penny who is an advocate for the homeless. Penny, however, is dating Hammer because he saved her life. Horrible is determined to impress her but cannot seem to overcome his own incompetence.
This is a three part comedy with music and stars Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible. It is full of twists and turns and lots of foolishness but it is still a lot of fun. The dialog is wonderful and the music is great. The concept is Joss Whedon and his brother.
Harris is wonderful as Horrible. He considers himself to be a villain and is just waiting for official acceptance but in order to be accepted he must perform an evil plan or kill someone. He is incapable of either.
Some of the humor is very subtle and overall the concept is excellent. If you enjoy being entertained, then this is for you. It is exceedingly clever and just a lot of fun.
