Very similar to another movie that also had Jonah Hill called Funny People. Hill must help a reckless rock star reform himself like Seth Rogen needed to help Adam Sandler. While Funny People was great, this movie is too silly and Hill is a poor leading actor.     Hill works for record excecutive Sergio (Sean Combs or whatever he is calling himself these days) and has ideas on how to revitalize the company's label. That is to go find a once famous rock star and get him to perform …

GET HIM TO THE GREEK Written and Directed by Nicolas Stoller   Starring Jonah Hill, Russell Brand, Elizabeth Moss and Sean Combs      In director, Nicolas Stoller’s first film, FORGETTING SARAH MARSHALL, North American audiences were formally introduced to Russell Brand, a British comedic sensation.  Brand played rocker, Aldous Snow, the man responsible for stealing the title character from leading man, Jason Segel.  You are supposed to hate this guy …

Russell Brand's new comedy "Get Him to the Greek" serves up a promising story but ultimately fails to deliver. Bad Boy rocker (Brand), reprises his Aldous Snow character from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and once again reunites with its director, Nicholas Stoller. The adventure is set in motion when Aldous' record label devises a plan to revive the slumping rocker's career by bringing him to LA from London for a 10th anniversary concert at the Greek Theater. The …

4 stars: crude, raunchy and rude
Everyone has dreams  some people dream of being a rock star and taking the world by storm, some people dream of being huge movie stars and  have fans scream there name as they walk down the carpet to the premiere of their  movie. However, for some they are just dreams and Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) is no exception you see Aaron is like most people he dreams big however, his dreams never can fully come to fruition due to his place on the totem pole of life. What Aaron wants more than …

A lot of directors out there have a good eye for crafting comedy. Jody Hill, director of The Foot Fist Way and Observe and Report, has a unique way of teaching us a lesson about the ugly truths of society buried beneath dark comedy. Adam McKay, one of the most in-demand comedy directors, has a way of making broader, more widely-acceptable comedies that draw in huge audiences, mainly for his affiliation with comedy icon Will Ferrell. However, my favorite filmmaker indulging …

This is a movie tailored for the college kids or the college kid in all of us. If you like to party, drink, smoke, whatever, then you'll probably appreciate this film. There were parts early on in the film that were pretty slow, to me, but then the comedy picked up and we laughed a lot.      The main character in this movie is Aldous Snow who was also a character in the Forgetting Sarah Marshall. In this movie, we see Aldous as a washed up rock star, alcoholic, drug addict....basically …

I enjoyed this movie. I honestly thought I was going to not be entertained because I dislike Russell Brandt and I also hate Pdiddy. Both of them were actually very good though and I absolutely love the guy from Superbad as well as the girl from Mad Men. Each had their great moments of the movie which was great. The movie trailer did seem to downplay how funny the movie really was which was a good thing, because it did not show all the hilarious moments, just enough to somewhat tease …

Funny, witty, rude, crude, raunchy and completely audacious "Get Him to the Greek" is an outrageous comedy that succeeds on every level.

I really enjoyed this film! It blended humor and honest feelings together very well and I came out feeling as if I would be Aldous Snow's friend. No one needs to tell me that it is lonely at the top in a film; I have seen that story a thousand times. But, Get Him to the Greek showed me that it is possible to beat that by truly embracing who you are and what you stand for. Excellent message and some good comedy.
