Punishment Park is a brilliant piece of cinema. Shot in the Southern California desert using his patent faux documentary style, Watkins creates a film like no other. The story deals in an alternate reality where the US Government actually enforces the McCarran Act (a law similar to the Patriot Act). The police and the FBI arrest people who they view as dangerous and potential threats.
