An utterly forgettable and contrived Scucne Fiction thriller....
What if someone told you that your child never existed that it was all just apart of your imagination that you dreamed up a happy life, with a happy little boy/girl. Then one day you wake up and that child is suddenly forgotten pictures, videos, friends everyone who knew your child suddenly has forgotten that he/she ever existed. Joseph Ruben's "The Forgotten" explores themes relating to the above statement, Ruben's film tells the story of a grieving mother named Telly Paretta …

I am trying to think of something positive to say about this movie and I can't. The makers couldn't decide what they wanted to do and the movie is a total mishmash that leaves you shaking your head in the end.     A woman remembers seeing her son off on a plane and him dying in a crash with a friend's daughter that she knew from the playground. Nobody else seems to remember him and all traces of his existance seem to have been wiped out.     When she comes …

Pros: ........     Cons: ..........     The Bottom Line: "But I was forgotten   I won't be forgotten   Never Again"   ~ Avril Lavigne     I almost got to the point in this movie thinking that Telly Paretta was a bit off kilter and perhaps she had really fictionalized her son, Sam. Then I took the other avenue and thought maybe she had suffered some sort of breakdown after her son died and her husband and doctor …

I cannot say I completely loathed this film. The mood and atmosphere of the film was eerie and creepy, but nothing we haven't seen before. Julianne Moore did an excellent job as the terrified, confused and frightened mother, who has been told her son, who has been dead for 14 months, never existed. However, her abilities start to fall apart at about the same time as the movie does.    This film begins to build a dynamic story very early on. Great twists and turns in this movie, …

Forgotten is an okay movie in which Julianne Moore stars as a mother, Telly, grieving over the death of her son Sam in an airplane crash 14 months before. Anthony Edwards plays her husband, and Gary Sinise plays her psychologist. This isn't just about grief, however, but something more strange that is happening as traces of Sam are slowly being wiped out of existence. His pictures start to fade, the pages in his memory book become blank, and his babysitter denies that he ever existed. Telly is shocked …

THE FORGOTTEN has as many mixed reviews as about any movie of the last season and for folks who like to feel secure about plot lines from beginning to end, that disparity of response is warranted. But for the casual viewer who just picks up this DVD to view because something (the cast, the graphics, the tone) appealed, this is a fine little thriller that engages your interest and your compassion and ultimately your mind.    It has been 14 months since an airplane with five Brooklyn …
