First of all it's statistically impossible for there to be more geniuses in China than there are people in the United States. Unlike the many people who are part of a social network to me I felt socially awkward seeing The Social Network with my family since the movie plays differently for me than my genetically connected counterparts. When word first came out that there was going to be a Facebook movie that was my first reaction "There is going to be a Facebook movie?!?" It was tough to initially sell it for me, but then the movie gained director David Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en) and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, A Few Good Men). I'm still a little surprised at the amount of acclaim that has been heaped onto this film. Personally, while I did find it to be well acted and very well directed, I just was never that taken with the story or the way that it was being told. This movie was incredibly entertaining. I enjoyed Justin Timberlake as Shawn Parker and Jess Eisenberg as Mark Zuckerberg- he was all intelligence and wit with a slight hint of vulnerability. It had an interesting storyline and it was easy to see how an idea can lead to corrupt business. Will it make a difference if you see it on the big screen versus Netflix? No, so if you're tight on funds, this can wait for your queue.
