It took time for me to get into The Office. Years, in fact. I had heard all the hype about how great it was ever since it first began airing in 2005, and I had tried to take in the occasional episode. But the show's approach wasn't something I was accustomed to seeing, and it took a long time for me to understand just what creators Ricky Gervais (creator of the original British version) and Stephen Merchant and developer Greg Daniels were trying to do. But when I finally started to get The Office, …

Hilarious show, with allot of dry humor. Not for all but worth checking out!

Like Seinfeld, the show has the power to remind us of the humor and importance of the most mundane parts we may over look about our lives.

Parts of the show are funny. My son really enjoys it, it never really snatched my interest.

Can be crass, but overall I love the show. Dwight is hilarious. And I love Jim's faces. My brothers look like him sometimes.

At first, this was painful for me to watch, but I've really started to enjoy it. I think it hit too close to home at first.

still laugh out loud funny even if you don't watch from episode 1. but probably would've gotten a 5 if had :)

The brilliant writing and great acting make the Office. It helps that some of the writers also play characters (Kelly, Mose, Ryan, Toby).

jim halpert
I know Jim Halpert is supposed to be the relate-able voice of reason among his co-workers in The Office, but in recent seasons, I've actually found him to be really annoying. Don't get me wrong, I loved Jim Halpert in the first few seasons — he was charming, sweet, and a character you rooted for and felt sorry for among the crazies.   But in the last two seasons, it almost seems like this character embodies some of the worst traits of the liberal, middle-class male: smug, condescending, …

Because of this, The Office hits so much closer to home. …
