A Brooklyn mobster and his family move to Normandy France in The Family. They are in the witness protection program for because of Robert Deniro's mobster activities, I enjoyed this film, because I did not mind the violence, profanity and sex that is pervasive throughout this film. I believe that people with prudish attitudes about violence and profanity will not enjoy this film. Michelle Pfeiffer burns down a local grocery store after she is insulted by local French people about being a lazy American. Dianna Agron plays Pfeiffer's teenage daughter. She beats a young man with tennis racket after he tries to get fresh with her. Movie goers will enjoy the humor, if they can set aside their beliefs about violence. Both of these actresses look absolutely beautiful. I can appreciate the beauty of a fifty year old woman as well as someone in her twenties. I could take my eyes off this women when they are on the screen. Robert Deniro spends his time typing on a manual Brother typewriter. He is a hard core mobster The funny part is that he can justify why he is a nice guy with a top ten list of reasons. The film gets very exciting in the end. The family tries to protect themselves against the gangsters who are trying to kill them. I enjoyed the humor and drama in this film very much.
