I first heard about him on youtube. He was ripping on one of my favorite things to hear ridiculed, Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. "Why bother" I thought. ANYONE can rip this piece of garbage to shreds. "Will it be any different from others I've seen on this subject?" I'm glad i clicked on the video.
Stationed on his own website and on youtube, the infamous Mr. Plinkett: an alleged survivor of the Titanic, kidnapper of women and pizza roll enthusiest has contsructed movies chronicling Star Trek: The Next Generation movies, The first two Star Wars prequels and more. his other works come from The Grabowskis. An internet sitcom type that has it's dense characters being ridiculous. Mr. Plinkett is only a character for the site's owner, a Wisconsin film maker who uses local actors.
Now, it's easy to bash on Star Wars Prequels, but Mr. Plinkett takes it to the Nth degree pointing out almost any single inconsistency that will give Lucas Apologists a fit in trying to explain it all away. I WON'T spoil any of his observations here but I will say that as i sat and listened to him list off issues "NOMBUR 4, ESCAPE!! Frum bordum!" I sat in more and more agreement that Phantom Menace really was as bad as people said it was and that Attack of the Clones is even worse then I thought it was.
The Trek movies have a similar theme running through them in that they were real average save for First Contact which to me is the only good one of the four and Mr. Plinkett even pointed out things bad about that movie that I had to agree with. He had a point.
If you want to see for yourself, go to www.redlettermedia.com to see more. A Baby's Day Out review was just made, theres a store for some T Shirts and more. The humor isn't for everyone as theres plenty of jokes about dead hookers and his dead wife and even kidnapping but it's done tongue and cheek enough to not scare away fans. He's still working and yes the Episode III review is in the works.
Now give me 3 thumbs up, or I'M NOT SENDING YOU A PIZZA ROLL!!!
If you have the slightest interest in Star Wars, chances are youi know about RedLetterMedia. Like many, I've seen Plinkett's (RedLetterMedia) brilliant reviews for the lousy Star Wars prequel trilogies. Plinkett's reviews are not only well-detailed and brilliantly analytical in explaining how flawed the Star Wars prequels are, but he also mixes in some great, dark humor about him being a murderer. His Avatar review was brilliant as well for … more
In between silly sitcomish skits the websites buffet of reviews of Next Gen Trek movies and Star Wars prequels are well thought out and poiniant, the fact that a mumbling old man is reading them makes them even better.
