Give this one some time

My first recommendation is to give this collection of 10 minute workouts at least a week.

I am not the most coordinated person. I struggled the first two times I did this DVD...then it clicked. I don't think the cuing is poor on this dvd. It's choreographed so the more it's practiced, the easier it gets. Once the routines become more familiar each section is easy to follow and so much fun!! No, these are not dance steps you can use at a club. It's a fitness routine and not a dance instruction DVD. Jennifer states more than once not to worry about the choreography. To burn calories...just keep moving to the beat of the music.

The DVD is split into 5 ten minute segments. There is a special menu option that lets you program the combination of workouts each day. So if you love one section and want to do it 5 times in a row...this lets you do that! I've programmed up to 60 minutes using this menu. I'm not sure what the limit is.

There are baically three dance segments and two using toning bands. The first dance segment is a bit flirty and honestly the most cheesy of the three segments. I still enjoyed it.

The second segment has a 60's beach vibe to it. Lots of fun and faster paced.

The third focuses on the Abs. This is my favorite segment. I could see results on my abs within a week. Not dramatic but enough to know that it's working.

The first band workout focuses on upper body. The second on lower body.

I usually use this DVD after another cardio one so I'm already warmed up. The warm ups and cool downs are not generous so do something before the DVD to warm up and something after to stretch.

I do recommend this. It's a nice break from my usual routine and I like that I can do the ab dance routine every day regardless of what my workout routine is for that day.

More 10 Minute Solution: Dance and ... reviews

"The Ten Minute Solution" is a great format because it really divides the five workouts into totally different styles which is imperative for not getting bored. I'm pretty good with dance choreography, but I could see a beginner having a really difficult time with this. I definitely recommend that you have some experience before trying this DVD.    The "Sexy Slim Down" is a little too slinky for my tastes, but not so sexy that I refuse to do it. It has a lot of fun moves, but …
