This is a wonderful documentary (or rock-umentary) film. Begins as a hilariously funny, non-fiction "This is Spinal Tap", but becomes a genuinely touching story of unfulfilled dreams, undying ambition, friendship, family and the passage of time. Highly recommended.
Metal is a musical genre that has been around since the 70's. There have been many so-called fathers of modern metal, but the real father of metal is the band that few had heard of. Anvil. They played with some of the greatest super bands in the Japanese Metal Show, but were the only ones to leave it unsigned. It might have had something to do with lead guitarist/vocalist lips antics onstage, which involved a dildo and his guitar. But The fact that they were unsigned did not discourage them. … more
