The nearly non-stop tension and action filling 3/4 of this movie make it a must for action junkies. Some of Arnolds best one-liners came from this classic!

He's a natural born action star who was meant to play these kinds of roles, even if he's never truly spectacular in any of them. An elite Special Forces Unit lead by Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is sent on a rescue mission into the hot jungle of Central America. Their mission turns into a raid which soon becomes an all out gun battle with some well equipped guerrillas. After accomplishing the mission and taking one hostage named Anna (Elpidia Carrillo), they trek through the jungle to rendezvous with their pick up chopper. This is definitely, in my opinion, a movie that children should not be watching. I made the mistake of letting my 9 and 10 year old watch this, and spent the entire night up with them because of nightmares. For the adult side of things, this is a pretty good movie if you like high action movies. 3 stars from me.

is a true sci-fi classic. Like the Alien Quadrilogy (Alien/ Aliens /Alien 3 /Alien Resurrection), a powerful alien creature slaughters humans like cattle. What makes Predator so great - and what more recent copycats lack - is a great cast of characters and dramatic scenes. This movie is one of the most engaging and intense science fiction movies ever made. An alien lands in the jungles of Central America and is on a hunt with humans serving as the prey. Even after 17 years, I still enjoy this hybrid film which combines the best features of action adventure with special effects which create what is generally referred to as "science fiction." Arnold Schwarzenegger leads an elite squad of U.S. Army commandos to a remote region of South American jungle, where they've been assigned to search for South American officials who've been kidnapped by terrorists. Instead they find a bunch of skinned corpses hanging from the trees and realize that they're now facing a mysterious and much deadlier threat. As the squad is picked off one by one, Arnold finds himself pitted against a hideous alien creature that's heavily armed and wearing a spacesuit enabling the creature to render itself invisible. The title says it all in describing the relentless, escalating action that follows, maintained by McTiernan with an abundance of visual flair. The film's special effects are still impressive, and stunning locations in the Mexican jungles create a combined atmosphere of verdant beauty and imminent danger. The plot doesn't hold up to much scrutiny, but the movie's so exciting and tightly paced that its weaknesses seem irrelevant.--Jeff Shannon
