This movie is one of the best there is. The directing is one of the best there is, and even after its release in 1957 the movie is still an example of cinematography for current directors to strive for. And its story matches. It asks some of the greatest questions in life and shows how a knight, his squire, and some actors deal with it. As for the acting, it was good, but because they were Swedish it was hard for me to compare it to anything that I'm familiar with.      …

Seventh Seal is one of my favorite movies. I have to rank it up there with A Touch of Zen, Barry Lyndon, City Lights and 2001: A Space Odyssey. If there ever was such a thing as a perfect film, this one would have to be a nominee. I've never seen such a picture (and I probably never will) that was so moving, well shot, written, acted and directed. The chess game between the knight and death is an all-time classic. Words cannot describe how great this film is. There will never be another one …
