A 2011 action/fantasy film directed by Kenneth Branagh.
< read all 28 reviewsA visually impressive, hammer swinging action/fantasy blockbuster with an amazing visual style and heavy Shakespearean and biblical undertones that can never seem to support a lackluster screenplay and dull execution of a rather interesting story of an arrogant God learning to appreciate life and all the little things that come with. "Thor" is a technical masterpiece but as a story and quite frankly as a film it lacks the strength and the balls for that matter to really take its story to the level of such modern superhero classics such as "Spider Man 2", "Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight" and even "X-Men". "Thor " is pretty to look at and I must say is an excellent way to blow almost two hours but beyond that it offers nothing for its devoted fan base except the small pleasure of seeing their favorite Hero/God getting his swing on(you know what I mean) and is quite frankly a letdown seeing the pedigree involved. "Thor" had the chance to be something so much more but instead settled for being an average, run of the mill hero flick instead of the stunning grand spectacle a tale of this caliber deserves no, demands and one that it viewers should find worthy.
