I love this new album by Eric Clapton

  • Sep 28, 2010

I love this new music from Eric Clapton.  This album is more proof that Clapton is one of the best musicians today.   This disc has a mix of up tempo songs and slower songs.    Wynton Marsalis lends his talents on several  He plays the trumpet on the song “My Very Good Friend the Milkman”.   Allen Toussaint plays the piano on this track.  These two musicians imbue this track with a bluesy tone with their respective instruments.

“How Deep Is The Ocean” is a beautiful love song.    Wynton plays the trumpet on this track.  He gives the tune a sensual tone with his instrument.  I love this track.  “Rocking Chair” is a song that makes me very relaxed.   This song is about coming to terms about getting older. “Everything Is Going To Be Alright” is a groovy sounding tune.   The bass playing gives this track a jazzy tone.  It is very enjoyable to listen to.  “River Runs Deep” is a song about a man does to a woman who is cheating on him. This is a rather dark song, but I enjoy it.

“Travellin’ Alone” is a song with a cool beat with good vocals from Eric.  Doyle Bramhall lends his talents playing the electric guitar on this tune.    “When Somebody Thinks You’re Wonderful” is a light fun sounding song with good musical arrangements.  This song is so much fun to listen to.  This is a hopeful song that makes me believe I can find someone special.   “Judgment Day” is another song with a bluesy sound to it.  I love the harmonica playing on this tune. “Autumn Leaves” is a slower tempo song.  This tune has a very romantic tone to it.  This is because of the lovely piano playing.  “Run Back To Your Side” is a pure rock song.  This song showcases Eric’s talent as a guitar player.   I love the guitar riffs on this track.
“Diamonds Made Of Rain” is an excellent song about how wisdom comes with age.  This song sounds very uplifting to me. “Hard Times Blues” is a song that has Eric singing about the blues.  No one sings the blues better than Eric.  I love the upbeat tune “That’s No Way To Get Along”.  This is the kind of song that I can tap my feet to.  “Can’t Hold Out Much Longer” is a great blues song about a man can be frustrated with a woman.  This is entertaining new music from Eric Clapton.
