This the record that launched Madonna. And the hit songs Material Girl, Like A Virgin, Angel, and Dress You Up are all fairly catchy. However, the rest of the material is a bit substandard. Some flash, some emotion on Love Don't Live Here Anymore but little in terms of great lyrics for great instrumental definition. And the last three songs really just fill up the album.
Definitely some good moments but I would settle for the Immaculate Collection when compiling Madonna recordings.
