This album has all of the basic Beatles hits. While it's not as comprehensive as the Red and Blue albums, it's pretty much most of them. The only notable exceptions are that it's missing Strawberry Fields and Back in the USSR.

'Beatles 1' remarkably is the first Beatles' album to be the #1 bestseller of any given year. (While nearly all of their studio albums went to the top of the charts, none of them was the top seller of any given year. 'Hello, Dolly,' I believe beat out 'Meet the Beatles,' in 1964, for instance.) For those who are familiar with the blue and red albums, this collection has many advantages. My son a music fanatic was 8 when he first heard this cd. Now we hear part of it at least once a day.There is a simple reason why a now 9 year old would rather listen to this cd than any other. It is that in the field of Rock there have been many great music makers. None can compare with the Beatles.If you judge by the quality of songs and music, no rock cd released in the last 10 years is more worthy of purchase. Never equaled, never will be.
