It's pretty hard not to like Shakira, with her worldy music songs and hip shaking. Great voice, obviously amazing dance skills. But I was never over the top, in love, as I was with other female pop singers like Madonna or Gaga. My roommate, Paige, however, is a different story, and has been in awe of Shakira before she even broke out into the US music scene.

Paige, the dedicated fan that she is, entered a sweepstakes on twitter to win two tickets and a chance to dance on stage with Shakira at her Anahiem concert. She won!

I was quite excited to go to the concert as I heard that she was really amazing live, and even though I didn't know many of her songs, I could tell it was going to be a great show.

We got floor seats in the back right hand side of the stage. It was

The show was set to start at 8 PM, but we had no sign of anything until 8:50. Suddenly everyone started screaming and standing on their chairs. 10 minutes later the lights turned off and people REALLY started screaming.

I haven't been to a concert before that was just for ONE artist. The energy was completely different then anything i experienced at other concerts before. I think this might be an obvious connection, but it made me think of the movie Selena, in the clips when she was preforming and people were just screaming her name. To give you an idea, here is a clip of her entrence to the Honda Stadium.

For the entire duration of the concert Shakira did not skip a beat, take a breather or a break from shaking her hips. She was so enthusiastic and energetic the entire time.

Everyone in the crowd was dancing and singing along with her. Even when she was dancing around and not singing it was still very entertaining and special to see.

At the beginning of our encore, our moment of truth came! We lined up in the back of the stage and stood in the sidelines while Hips Don't Lie was preformed.

If you look REALLY close, you can see a glimpse of me jumping around on the very far right hand side of the stage (yellow shirt.) It was absolutely a BLAST.

I highly recommend checking out Shakira if you ever get a chance she is one of the coolest, most talented artists out there right now, for any demographic. Every time of person was in the crowd, dancing and singing along with her.

For someone who is as successful and famous as Shakira, she has really stuck to her roots in her performances.  You can tell she absolutely loves her fans. Check her out, after the concert, she goes into the parking lot for an impromptu encore of her new single Loca. I unfortunately missed this, as we had parked in the completely other direction, but it was still super awesome to hear about the next day.
