This band was nothing more than an unimaginative, uninspired amalgamation of pseudo-thrash metal fused with banal nu-metal and peppered with the occasional Arabic-sounding guitar noodle. The band's attempts at being "wacky" really make me sick. Look, guys, you aren't Frank Zappa just because your lyrics string together random words, and your political views are no more insightful than the by-the-book agenda of a leftist college student.      If you want "wacky" …

System of a Down is probably one of my all-time favorite bands. I love their unique style of rock, and their upfront, liberal lyrics. Serj Tankien has an amazing way of projecting his unmistakable voice, and can go from screaming to serenading in seconds. The guitars use drop C tuning for most of their songs, and it just yells "heavy!".    System is a very socially aware band. They express their political views in their songs, and have included such topics as religion, the war …
