"Amparo" blends bits of classical music spiced with Latin, Celtic and other influences to make for a nice album. Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin play their hearts out with guests like Joshua Bell, Renee Fleming, James Taylor, and Chris Botti.     While the whole album is solid, he real meat of this project, in my opinion, lies within tracks four through seven. "Pavane, Op. 50" and "Since I First Saw Your Face" are my two personal favorites.    For a quiet evening …

I wasn't immediately won over by this CD on first listen, though I loved track #1 from the beginning. After 5 or so sessions with this CD, I now enjoy nearly all of the tracks in some way. It is not a CD I'm going to run out and tell all my friends they must have, but it is a nice soundtrack for an afternoon of reading.    Other than guest singer/songwriter James Taylor, who was my main reason for ordering this CD, I was not familiar with the primary and other guest performers. …
