it is nice that Epic Records has rereleased this obscure 1998 disc. whether one sees this album as continuous with Lamb of God's work or a separate identity, it is a must-have for anyone who needs a purely awesome, skull-breaking album in their collection. This is HEAVY. As far as Lamb of God comparisons go, it has most similarities with _New American Gospel_, which I think is a good thing, but it is a little more frantic. this is tough, dirty metal yet mechanically precise (guitarist Mark Morton and drummer Chris Adler are stunning) with a good old-fashioned intuition that truly makes body-liquifying metal, with a few heavy-duty stoner-metal trudges. riffs so killer you might as well be a burning priest. recommended!
