While Cannibal Corpse's discography has had some inconsistencies in quality since their formation in the late 80's, they've earned their place as one of the biggest icons in the death metal genre.
What I find pretty impressive about Cannibal Corpse is that despite getting practically no mainstream exposure throughout their career (with their most notable stint of exposure being their brief appearance in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective), they've become one of the most lucratively successful bands in the whole death metal genre.
Of course, sales don't determine quality of anything. These guys have cranked out some really sick and awesome albums over the years, rife with over-the-top lyrics and album art that give this band a charm that many other death metal bands couldn't replicate.
Here's some of the best tunes Cannibal Corpse has cranked out.
If you want to get into Cannibal Corpse, here's the albums I would recommend to you.
Eaten Back to Life (1990) Butchered at Birth (1991) Tomb of the Mutilated (1992) Bloodthirst (1999) Kill (2006) Evisceration Plague (2009) Torture (2012) It's also worth noting that these guys put on a killer live show, as I saw these guys in Tinley Park during the 2006 Sounds of the Underground tour and by the time Cannibal Corpse left the stage, I was exhausted from all the moshing (and felt like I needed a new neck).
