Delta Has Strong Debute

Delta Goodman is one of the top vocalists in Australia, and after listening to this CD you'll know why. Though the album is not anything revolutionary or anything, it is a solid, well made CD that is, if nothing else, fun to listen to. Granted, when the CD starts out you might not think that. Beautiful voice... but the Album is missing something.

This was my first time listening to Delta Goodrem... I hadn't heard of her before I received this CD to review. No one can deny that Delta has talent and an amazing voice. Her voice reminds me of Celine Dion... with a softer tone to it. However she does have the same 'power' behind her vocals. Stylistically she sounds a bit like Mariah Carey. A good listen but too slick on the production side.

I could be far more enthusiastic about Delta Goodrem if she had a more unique style all her own. From the first track of this CD on, I couldn't shake the feeling that she was trying to become a Celine Dion/Madonna hybrid. She definitely has the pipes, but a look at the notes for this album gives me a hint at where it goes wrong. To quote...
