'District Line' by Bob Mould is a very well-round piece of work that mixes traditional bluesy rock with electronic elements and even techno (yes techno). There is lots of emotion and feeling in this release and it's an entertaining, well done effort. Standouts include 'Stupid Now' the first song off the album which is very raw and really HITS you right off the bat. Bob Mould, "District Line"    Comfortable    Amos Lassen    I can best describe Bob Mould's new album as comfortable. It's nice to listen to but beneath the lyricism that it provides is a touch of anger. It is a sincere effort and it is modern rock. Overall, I found "District Line" flat and overproduced. Bob Mould maintains his signature vocal style and thoughtful lyrics, but the songs blend together with very little variation. I think if he focused on capitalizing on his raw vocals with accompanying beautiful acoustics rather than allowing the basics to get swallowed up by tinny, slick production; it would have been a much more powerful body of work.
