I think Dylan is the hands down greatest. I've always wanted to like the Dead. Great, then, the Dead does Dylan. Should be spooky, loud, polyrhythmic, and the band should cook on Dylan's tunes. But no, it's mostly your usual Dead narcoplectic doodling - bring on the coma machine. True, Garcia picks things up with his great vocals on a few numbers, and the piece with Dylan really cooks, but it's mostly Bob Weir sounding oh so clever, and important, and the band sounding, well, dead. Too bad.
