This morning I was just thinking about the first time I heard the Beatles and remembered that it had been on a vinyl album back in the late 70s/early 80s called The Stars On 45. So I found and downloaded this track (ah, technology). It is a cheesy, beat-laden, disco medley, but I thought it was very cool back way back when. Listening to it again today I can't say I feel the same way. I'm fairly certain it is the same version, but the vocals somehow sound different and the music is less Beatley and more ...discoey. Considering I last listened to it about 30 years ago, perhaps that is normal.

Still, it is hard to go wrong with the Beatles songs, 89¢ is a steal for 15:29 minutes of music and if nothing else I feel a bit of nostalgia when listening to it. I doubt I'll be listening to it too much though. Well, maybe just one more time today. Break out the bell bottoms!
