This 18-track CD was issued by the Metropolitan Opera in 2000 and is a tuneful mixture of 20th Century singers from Beniamino Gigli to Roberto Alagna. The songs range from the traditional `Adeste Fideles' to Irving Berlin's `White Christmas.' The CD insert narrates the history of each song and lists the singer, chorus, and orchestral accompaniment for each track. This is always one of the first CDs I play to put me in the mood for decorating the tree, making cookies and all of those other traditional Christmas chores. A complete list of tracks is as follows:
