This icon of jazz turns 90 on December 6th. The man actually played at the Newport Jazz festival this past summer where he has been performing since the 1950's. Happy Birthday Dave!

A brilliant musician and very influential not only on Jazzers but also on the Fusion and Prog Rock generation which were so inspired by his experiment with different Time signatures and Polyrhythms. And his music is such fun to play I'm practising Blue Rondo a la Turk at the moment, it's challenging but Fun.
