Etta James died today of leukemia in a California hospital surrounded by loved ones. I will be getting more information and writing a more detailed review of the woman whose voice is so beautifully haunting that it helped create a whole new musical genre. To be honest, you'll probably get a list out of me too, I love Etta, she was an amazing woman and talent. Etta, may you rest in peace now and forever. Thank you for being such a wonderful inspiration and on constant rotation in my playlists. Thank you for giving me the perfect song to walk down the aisle to...You will be missed.

I didn't know her music, but it's always sad when someone who gave so much to the world and inspired so many dies.
