Best bang for your buck is a total understatement
My very trusty set of Ink'd earbuds finally gave out after nearly three years of use.  That's three years of plane and train rides, workouts, runs and not to mention being tugged and pulled in my purse and gym bag.  I take really good care of most of the things that I own, but these earbuds... No one told me that getting an iPod Nano for Christmas would teach me so much, but I quickly realized that I have very tender (and small) ear canals, which meant that bad music wasn't going to be the only thing hurting my ears.
