Cause I Sez So is the second album from the New York Dolls Ver. 2.0. The blues inspired music makes this disc seem like more of a solo David Johansen project instead of a proper Dolls' album. A remake of the band's earlier track from their S/T album (Trash) along with the digital single "Cause I Sez So" make this disc a must buy for fans of the band. Produced by Todd Rundgren and fueled by the smokey vocals of David Jo, the album hearkens back to old school rock n' roll days of the band's roots. Musicians like Bo Diddly and vocal groups like The Coasters made a huge impact on their sound (Check out their second album). Rundgren's production brings the band's sound to life as well as the guitar work of Syl Sylvain and Steve Conte. The rhythm section provide by Sami Yaffa and Brian Delany bridge the music together very well.
If you're looking to some some old school rock music mixed in with today's sound then you'll defiently want to check out the New York Dolls fourth studio album. Just because there's snow on the roof doesn't mean the fireplace ain't burning.
