The Best Crue Album Ever(Really!)

"Dr. Feelgood" belongs in the same category as AC/DC's "Back in Black" and Def Leppard's "Hysteria." It's commercially appealing, yet tough enough and unique enough to stand out as a real gem in the metal/hair band genre. Motley Crue was at its best on this album. Every song here is excellent. The title track is clearly one of the best metal songs made to date. "Kickstart My Heart" growls its way through your ear canal and rips your heart apart as the Crue pounds out this tune. "Without You" is also solid.

The Crue danced that fine line of not being too glam and not being too pop with just the right amount of excessive metal injected in to the music. This is a commercial masterpiece. Everyone has heard something off of this album.

A funny thing about this album is that it is the first album the Crue did after they sobered up. That tells you something right there: commercial success/genre cred is a result of cleaning up your act. Aerosmith did the same thing.

Give it to the Crue, this album is above and beyond the rest of their offerings.
