The album title is the hook that caused me to buy this CD. I thought this music would be dark and scary, but I found that the majority of the songs on this album to be completely opposite of that. Erza Koeing has such a soothing voice. He makes this album worth listening to. The other three band members really compliment Erza's vocals with their instruments. The best songs on this album are the songs that involve some sort of personal struggle. My favorite song is "Ya Hey". This song is about trying to find a place to call home and not finding it. My other favorite song is "Everlasting Arms". This song is about struggling to find love in someone who not there. This song has rather bleak lyrics, but it has a beautiful tone. "Unbelievers" is a song about pondering about what happens to people who die who do not believe in God. This is a thought provoking song. "Finger Back" is a song with graphic violent lyrics. This song has such a pleasant tone that I did not even pay attention to the lyrics. "Worship You" is a song about looking for direction and guidance. Chris Tomson provides a superb beat on the drums with this song. "Diane Young" is a song that simply infuses me with energy. I love this tune. I am still trying to deceipher the lyrics of this song. "Step" is a pretty love song. I love the piano playing by Chris Baio here. "Hannah Hunt" is a song about the intimacy between a man and a woman in a relationship. "Hannah Hunt" is another beautiful track with melodic piano playing. "Modern Vampires of the City" is an entertaining album by Vampire Weekend.
