Spiritual Hawaiian Music

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the movie SOUL SURFER. As much as I was impressed by the film itself, I also completely enjoyed the film's music: both the lyrical soundtrack and the instrumental score. I liked the music so much that I bought both the soundtrack and the score from the film. The score is composed by Marco Beltrami, a man who gained major recognition with his compositions for the SCREAM movies. The music has a definite Hawaiian feel to it with chords of spirituality, reflecting the tone and plot of the film itself. I liked all of the pieces on the score, but I was particularly impressed by "Shark Attack" (think a Hawaiian version of the "Jaws Theme") and "Bethany Gives Thanks". I think this CD is something that those who enjoyed the movie SOUL SURFER will like, as well as fans of Hawaiian music and fans of Marco Beltrami.
