A Whole New Sound to What We Remember!

  • Dec 16, 2009
I bought the CD & DVD version and am not sure what the difference is since both seem to play on my HD DVD surround sound system equally. I haven't listened to the Beatles in a while and this product re-invents them as possibly the greatest pop artists of all time. The quality of the voices is way better than anything I have ever heard by them before. Some of the songs are pretty much intact with much sharper vocals while others are totally new experiences (I am the Walrus, Octopus'Garden, and While My Guitar Gently Weeps). I love the new versions of these songs as much as the originals.

There are some additional things thrown in such as Ed Sullivan's introduction of I Want to Hold Your Hand and all kinds of interesting chatter by the group at the end of I am the Walrus and Strawberry Fields Forever. Additonally several of the songs are blended in a way that is as good if not better than any danceclub DJ has done.

I love this re-invention of the Beatles and hope that it will open up a new world to many of the young listeners who don't realize the quality of this music that stands up there with Classical music as something to last for ages!

NIce review! Your comments about the remastering are very interesting. Think I'll sample some of these tunes online and if I am impressed by them as much as you are I just might pick this one up.
