She's LIVE in VEGAS, yes, AGAIN!

  • Feb 12, 2011
The lights go on, the stage comes alive, Celine Dion is ON and we all come alive!

The setting: Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas.
The show: Live in Las Vegas.
The performer: Celine Dion.

It’s not simply a concert, it is an entourage of performers all in unison that created one of the mostl lively singing concerts I’ve ever come across! It’s Vegas production that sets it distinctly different from the rest of the world’s. That’s the X-factor about a Vegas show. That’s also why it is so exciting visiting Vegas, if only merely to have an experience of these shows. It’s what I feel Americans excel in; Vegas shows and Hollywood movies. Sometimes, with the China upsurge in the world’s arena and with so much exposure to the Chinese markets, I tend to forget how  wonderful America can be. Yes, it is declining in many areas, least of which the financial and  political arena. But, in the entertainment field, the U.S. is still way advanced than many countries in the world. It is here I find the magic of yesteryears; when I was very much enthralled by the wonders of being in America and how the world looked up to it in most fields of expertise.

Yes, it is here that not only Celine Dion came alive but also America comes alive for its audiences. Celine may be French Canadian but she’s one of the icons that symbolizes the western way. If you are a fan of her &/or her songs, then this is a DVD set for you (2 DVDs of 5 hours of entertainment; the concert & 3 exclusive documentaries, namely Because You Loved Me (A Tribute to the Fans)A New Day: All Access and A New Day: the Secrets). I know, I’d rather be the one in the audience in Vegas but we can’t always have our dreams come true! Mine has in so many areas and I’m grateful even if it’s a DVD version of the show that I’m watching. Afterall, I’m going to be at another show in Macau “The House of Dancing Water” tomorrow evening so I have a lot to be thankful for!
Many of her songs I’ve heard before and some are the best selections which we are all familiar with. I’m glad that I found something new too. Not just her excellent stage presence, not just the professional dancers and awesome choreography but also the most important element of all, songs that will be here to stay, songs that give one a sense of connection with that inner soul/s. Yes, some even shed a tear or two listening to her singing… it comes so naturally and so touchingly.  For those who love high fashion, you’ll be happy to see all the colorful dresses in the show too! So, it’s not just for Celine’s fans but for fans who appreciate the good things in life! A show that sets it apart from many shows in the world; a must see for all of us who have grown mellow over the years; a show that comes alive in more sense than one!
I surrender all … to the magic of Celine and a thousand dreams, to the chance of living it again, to not let go… to live again with love… Vegas rules, Dion lives on!

Upcoming:  Celine Dion will return to Vegas this March 15. So, if you're in the neighborhood, it's your chance to catch the new upcoming show! I'm envious!!!
I love you, Celine! I love you, Celine!

That Celine Dion is one of the most generous and sincere artists in music today is pretty well-known. While she has taken a beating from the media and from detractors for being over-the-top in some of her vocals, a bit too dorky in her performances and in interviews, she has remained (sans the chest-beating) true to herself and to the music and fans that made her famous.    This DVD set is not only for those who saw the show and want a copy of it to remember, or for those who …

About this movie

If you were one of the handful of folks who missed Céline Dion's mega-run in Las Vegas, fear not:Céline Dion: A New Dayis a riveting, sumptuous front-row seat to the whole extravagant experience. As concert DVDs go, this is a show of a lifetime, nearly six hours featuring not only no-expenses-spared production values and every song from Dion's famed show, but priceless extras as well. Dion's substantial voice is in fine form, and sparkles on signature tunes like "A New Day Has Come," "The Power of Love," and of course the theme fromTitanic, "My Heart Will Go On" (and Dion-watchers will note that she's thankfully dialed back the breast-beating that used to accompany this song).

But as impressive as the performances are--and they include the talented gymnasts, dancers, and backup singers who work as a Cirque du Soleil-style ensemble--the set's most memorable moments are found in the personal footage and extras. Dion comes across as truly humble and approachable, with a wicked sense of humor and real compassion for her hard-working staff and her fans. There are sweet, intimate moments of Dion with her husband and son, as well as telling scenes that show her true resourcefulness (girlfriend does her own makeup!). The many docs include one on the building of her special theater and the building of the show from the ground up. "If you're going to gamble," says Dion's manager and husband, René Angélil, "Vegas is the place to do it." Ladies and gentlemen, we have ...
