John Corey and his wife, Kate Mayfield, are asked to be part of a group to go to Yemen and find a terrorist and then either arrest the terrorist or kill him.
The Panther is a leader of al Qaeda and one of the planners of the attack on U.S.S. Cole which killed a number of American sailors.
The plan is to let the Panther know that Corey is coming to Yemen in order to lure the Panther out into attempting retaliation.
The drama is well done as we follow the deceit between members of the CIA with Corey trying to find out what they really plan. It is also interesting to see the philosophy of a number of terrorists, in particular Nabeel who is the Panther's representative who comes to the United States to keep track of the Panther's parents and sister. This is a person who worms his way into the Panther's confidence but when he's confronted by Corey, he turns into a sniveling coward.
The story is interesting as is the history of Yemen and the poverty of that country.
The story is told on a number of layers, with the Panther and his goals on one level, the CIA and their plan and the FBI.
Very enjoyable and recommended for those who enjoy audio books.
