It is upbeat, energetic and totally mesmerizing. I enjoyed the music from this musical and the performances of its different casts simply from their sheer energy! Festival of the Lion King is performed at 2 different Disney’s park, namely the Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World (Florida) & Adventureland (Hong Kong Disneyland). I saw it for the first time in end 2007 at the Animal Kingdom.  Then again in 2008 at the Hong Kong Disneyland. It’s a highly popular 30 mins show and the best way to get a good glimpse of it is to be there early. There is quite a queue when I was there on both counts!

I’ve seen a few Disney’s musicals at the parks before this and found this one to be the best. I used to like The Little Mermaid because it does  lovely songs too. However, I found the Festival of the Lion King interesting in that the stage is right in the center with audiences sitting around it. That essentially draws the audience into the performances much more effectively. Audience participations are active by dividing the audiences into 4 different groupings: Lion, Elephant, Warthog & Giraffe. Guests then participate by making the corresponding sounds to that of the animals at certain time during the entire shows. The colorful, dazzling costumes & the pageantry of the show draw fans of all ages. There are at least more than 50 performers in this show, making it comes alive and highly engaging.

What I enjoyed most is the exotic dances by the performers. Those are some of the most beautiful and upbeat songs & the performers did them real well. Not only do the children enjoy the performances they are allowed to dance around the theater too. Isn’t that great? Kids love it! I love the song Hakuna Matata in this show.

Other songs performed in this show are:
Circle of Life
Can You Feel the Love Tonight
I just can’t wait to be King
Tumble Monkeys
Be Prepared

This is a highly enjoyable musicals in Disney’s repertoire of shows. I highly recommend it!

Fun, interactive show for all ages! The actors are comparable to the Broadway actors!

Animal Kingdom’s Camp Minnie-Mickey is home to one of the most popular shows in all of Walt Disney World. That would be The Festival of the Lion King which contains acrobatics, fire dancing and songs from the Lion King. The entire cast of the movie joins a band of singers to lift your spirits and give you a pact show. You begin with some interaction as each section takes on an animal sound. As you band together to let out one loud grunt the entire cast of the show will join you in center stage …

Festival of the Lion King
, an original interpretation of the Disney animated film The Lion King, is a Broadway-caliber short-form stage musical performed live. It uses the concept of tribal celebration in combination with ideas from Disney's Electrical Parade. It is performed inDisney's Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney WorldFlorida and in Adventureland at Hong Kong Disneyland.
The show uses songs, dance, puppetry and visual effects to create an African savanna setting filled with lions, elephants, giraffes, birds, zebras and gazelles. In this theater environment, Festival of the Lion King is a traveling celebration presented by Simba and his friends, (including a band of four human singers). The show is in the form of a revue, and not a condensed version of either the film or Broadway show. The show features the award-winning music from the movie, written by Elton John and Tim Rice.
