In January 1776 Thomas Paine published a pamphlet called "Common Sense". It has since been hailed as one of the most brilliant documents ever written in the English language. Thomas Paine was extremely liberal compared to the other founding fathers. The fact that a right-wing ideologue like Glenn Beck finds some philosophical connection with Paine is just nonsense.
