I loved Aretha Franklin so much that I named my first black kitten for her.
Come Up the Years
The Airplane/Starship was nothing without Marty Balin.
Black Magic Woman
My daughter's 10 year old twins love this song as much as I do.
Peace Train
I'm so glad that Cat Stevens/Yusef has decided to sing his old songs again. There's nothing wrong with this one and "Morning has Broken".
Born to Be Wild
The anthem of a generation.
Get It While You Can
God, could Janis belt 'em out! I saw her in concert in Tampa--B.B. King openned for her. What a night!
Teach Your Children
The real anthem for the generation.
Neil Young's unforgettable song about Kent State--"Tin soldiers and Nixon's coming/We're finally on our own/This summer I hear the druming/Four dead in ohio"

What did you think of this list?

Loved your list. Glad to see you have taken advantage of all the new songs (now about 3000)  we have added to the data base. Makes creating lists much easier for everyone!

I love making lists. I can get almost compulsive about it.

And I enjoy reading them!

I'm just trying to finish up a brief list of what I like about Bollywood. The Count helped mw post videos of some of my favorite song and dance numbers. It's a pity we couldn't find them all with subtitles--but then they're almost always about the same things anyhow and that's how much he loves the girl and how beautiful she is.

This list is just awesome. All I can say, really. Awesome!

Somehow two of the songs were changed. You can tell which ones because when I went back in and changed them back again just now, I couldn't get a picture with them. Weird, huh?

The only one missing a picture is Aretha's "Think".
January 05, 2011
That's even weirder...Somebody to Love was missing a picture.
January 05, 2011
Someone must have added them then because they all have photos now.
January 05, 2011
Yep. Wasn't me. What I want to know is who changed out the songs in the first place?

Probably an internet gremlin. William Shatner saw one on his website tearing through megabytes at an alarming rate. Sadly, no one believed him. ; )

I would. It's funny that it seems to happen to me here and nobody else in our group. You'd think stuff like this would happen on Amazon too. You could not just bitch about people's reviews--you could change them!

My guess is that it has to do with whoever edits the topics. This is partly why I think certain people should have that ability while others shouldn't.

Bad "Twilight Zone" joke. Sorry. I just watched that episode a few nights ago and it's still in my head.

I'm not crazy!
January 05, 2011
Did I say anything about "crazy"?
January 05, 2011
There really is something on the wing of the plane...

That just makes me think of "The Midnight Special"--there's a great song. Of course that's from the movie.

#'s 10 and 16 were classics in the woopak household! Nice list, Karen!

Thanks. Not much on any of the others?

I am the poster child for inertia. Where ever I am is where I plan to stay FOREVER.   So much so in fact that it took me decades to understand the punchline about why   the chicken … more
