Like Trivia?

I love trivia but nobody I come into contact on a daily basis with seems to share my passion for absolutely useless bits of information. How about you guys? What follows are a few of my favorites. I've always enjoyed questions with mutiple part answers the most so that's what I've decided to give you for the most part. The last question however is a slightly different version of Mensa's self-administered pre-test. I have no idea for certain what the answer is, in fact I've been arguing for the past 20 years or so with a couple of very stubborn people who think my answer is wrong. I'm throwing it out there to see what you guys think.

I'll be checking back and in a week or so (maybe less) I'll give the answers. And no cheating! You're on the honor systerm here.
This has been one of may favorites for a long time. The trick is to name them in order and to tell whether or not they made it out of the marriage live.
Mercury 7 Astronauts
You don't have to name them in order here but for fun you cane try naming the actors who played them in the MOVIE version of THE RIGHT STUFF. That's a very hard one. I can't do it so I'd be very impressed with anyone who could. Remember, no cheating! We're on the honor system here.
The Magnificent Seven
Name the eight stars of the ORIGINAL MOVIE version of this classic western. My brother asked me this question decades ago and frankly I'll admit that I was stumped. I only got 7 out of the 8 names (that's 7 heroes AND the head villain.) If you revell in trivia and think it's too easy then go for the characters names too.
Forbidden Planet
Here's one for fans of old TV shows. The classic science fiction flick FORBIDDEN PLANET featured an impressive array of actors who would later star or co-star in their own series. How many can you name, along with the principals of course. Wanna try for their characters names too?
Steve McQueen movies
Here's one I beat a radio DJ with on a call-in trivia contest. (Oddly enough he missed the most obvious one and not the most obscure.) Four Steve McQueen flix featured songs that went on the become "hits" to one degree or another--name 'em. For extra brownie points name the recording art/artists who performed them in the film.
Fox News
When I want intelligent, factual info I turn on Fox News. Yeah, sure. Like I'm going to trust a network that can't spell the name of one of the most influential men in Indian history. I'm willing to cut them some slack when dealing with The Mahatma's name, after all Mohandas Karamchand isn't something most Americans use ever day. But they screwed up his FAMILY name! Can you spell it right?

What did you think of this list?

Yup, I was way off on the other ones, lol. I mainly guessed on those anyway.

I'm really only surprised when it comes to the astronauts. I'm surprised that everybody can't get at least Shepard, Grissom, Glenn, and maybe Schirra if only because he did decongestant commercials on TV. Oh, I just put up a couple of new lists and they aren't audience participation.  =)

There is a litte verse that kids in England learn to remember the fate of the Six wives and it goes like this. Divorced, Beheaded, Died. Divorced, Beheaded, Survived.
September 23, 2010
It rhymes. The wives have such limited names, and they are in alphabetical order within their subset with Jane in the middle so that part is easy too.

Really creative list Karen, excellent job.
June 04, 2010
Don't want to try though? Not a big trivia fan I guess.
June 04, 2010
I am actually a trivia fan and will give them ago, I am sure you wil have me stumped.
June 01, 2010
This was really cute, Karen! I was stumped by all of your trivia questions except the Henry VIII one. I'm not sure if I could create such a list myself. I will have to think about it more, lol, but I had fun reading yours. :)
June 02, 2010
All of it is movie trivia as far as I'm concerned. I hope you do try one sometime because I do like my trivia.
June 02, 2010
I will let you know if I will make one. :)
June 02, 2010
I was hoping someone else would try, but so far...
June 03, 2010
(laughs) Give it time. You never know. ;)

I was working on my own list of Lolita book quotes. It took FOREVER! (laughs) I didn't realize how much I enjoyed that book until I saw I had collected 16 quotes from it. ;)

I feel that way about CATCH-22.
June 08, 2010
That is one classic I haven't read. I will need to check it out someday soon!
May 22, 2010
You've got me, Karen! I've read about the wives of King Henry VIII many times, but could still never guess that.  And for the last one... is the riddle teller as a child?
May 22, 2010
I'm not quite sure what you mean but "is the riddle teller as a child". The choices are; his father, himself, or his own son.
May 21, 2010
1) Nope. 2) Sam Shephard, Scott Glenn, Ed Harris, Quaid, Fred Ward, that right? 3)Yul Brunner, Wallach, S. McQueen, Bronson, Vaughn, Brad dexter, James Coburn, right? I miss anyone? 4-7)...I have a headache LOL! creative one, Karen!
May 22, 2010
Not one wife of Henry VIII? And only 4 Mercury 7 astronauts--the 5th name was in the film as a test pilot not involved in the program. But who were the astronauts? And you'remissing one hero in THE MAGNIFICENT 7.
