One of Jean-Claude Van Damme's best flix has his employed by an agency that uses time travel to prevent others from maqnipulating time for their personal gain. In this case it's evil politician Ron Silver.
Time travel and the JFK assassination, a natural combination. I reviewed this but for some reason the system isn't refering you to the review. Oh well.
See the full review, "What would you do if you had all the time in the world?".
The only Trek flick I could ever really watch more than once. A funny outing about returning extinct whales to the 1980s so that they in turn could save the earth from alien destruction. That's humans for ya. It's always about us, us, us.
This time Van Damme has been replaced by Jason Scott Lee who bounces all around time as he answers the question, should you go back in time and kill Hitler? Not the best movie you'll ever see but I liked it and I don't feel the least bit guilty.
Bruce Willis is sent back in time to gather a sample of a virus that has killed 5,000,000 people and caused the rest of earth's population to retreat underground.

Funny, I just recently finished reviewing the last Arnie Terminator flicks. Didn't care for Time Cop, and I never saw the sequel.
Terminator. YEAH!!!! This whole film series was awesome. Yes even Salvation. Star Trek first Contact was another good time travel film. IMO
QUEENBFLIXSeptember 18, 2010
I still haven't seen the last TERMINATOR flick, and I barely remember what the 3rd one was about. Partly because I didn't like it and partly because my memory is shot. =)
Although, no surprise, many of your choices would NOT be on my all-time list, I was VERY pleased to see that nearly forgotten gem TIME AFTER TIME. I remember I was a teenager when this came out, and at the time, it was just the coolest movie. Very nice sci-plot (I always love when people come to OUR time), great villian (David Warner is AWESOME), excitement and a very touching romance with the unknown (at the time) Mary Steenburgen. Thanks for remembering this flick!

I love this movie and for some reason everyone seems to forget it when they're talking about time travel movies. I love the scene where Wells finally catches up to Jack in the hotel room and Jack is telling him about how the world isn't the utopia Wells had thought it would be--in fact it's surpassed anything Jack had ever done himself--he was home.
LOL! Most of the best Raimi-produced films and TV series he had little to nothing to do with.
QUEENBFLIXAugust 10, 2010
I wouldn't say that so much about films, but he had next to nothing to do with TV aside from being a partner in the production company.
Count_Orlok_22August 30, 2010
I don't know, most of the films that spring to mind that he produced along with Rob Tapert, it was Rob who was the more involved. That was definitely the case with the TV shows they produced.
I love "12 Monkeys". Where's "Donnie Darko", "Somewhere in Time" and the "Planet of the Apes" films? I thought you liked all of those too...
QUEENBFLIXAugust 06, 2010
Oooh. I didn't even think of DONNIE DARKO. Time to amend the list.
Count_Orlok_22August 06, 2010
I love "Time After Time". That was the whole reason that Mary Steenburgen was given the role in "Back to the Future Part III". Great film.
QUEENBFLIXAugust 06, 2010
It was literally one of the first movies I bought when I got my VCR.
Count_Orlok_22August 06, 2010
I don't remember what my fist VHS tape was... Probably either "Star Wars" or "E.T."...
QUEENBFLIXAugust 06, 2010
Would that be the first tape YOU bought or the first one somebody bought for you?
Count_Orlok_22August 06, 2010
Well, the first I owned. The first one I bought.... I really don't recall.
Count_Orlok_22August 06, 2010
Possibly also "Star Wars". =D
QUEENBFLIXAugust 06, 2010
I might be a spendthrift but that doesn't mean that I don't remember where I squandered it. =) STAR WARS sounds like a logical choice.
Count_Orlok_22August 07, 2010
I remember the first DVD, CD, and video games I ever bought though.
QUEENBFLIXAugust 08, 2010
That was very recently. although the videos couldn't have been all that long ago either--you're just a kid.
Count_Orlok_22August 08, 2010
VHS have been around for about 30 some odd years and I'm almost 25. Hardly a kid, especially since I feel about 50 these days.
QUEENBFLIXAugust 09, 2010
You're a kid. When I first moved to Florida the Tv stations that showed horror movies on Saturdays didn't even start to broadcast until 1:00--now that was a long time ago. VHS just came along yesterday.
Count_Orlok_22August 09, 2010
Thirty years ago isn't yesterday, my dear. Unless you're Mel Brooks' 2,000 Year-Old Man, which I doubt.
QUEENBFLIXAugust 10, 2010
It's relative. I can still remember what I wore when I saw most movies--and that was before the black t-shirt and jeans phase which started about 30 years ago.
Count_Orlok_22August 10, 2010
The black t-shirt and jeans thing goes back to the '50s. And yeah, I could tell you what I wore to most movies too. Weird.
QUEENBFLIXAugust 11, 2010
No, that's when I started wearing those things exclusively because the only place I ever went was work anyhow and it was a very dirty job.
Good list. I am not sure what Brad Pitt represents. I forgot about Time after Time. I remember H.G. Wells talking about the brake in the car "this lever retards the speed" I really enjoyed Time Cop and did not realize there was a sequel.
QUEENBFLIXAugust 06, 2010
The second TIMECOP went straight to video. It isn't as good as the first but, hey, Jason Scott Lee! TIME AFTER TIME is one of my all time favorite movies. I love the line you quoted. they kept the character's speech true to his own time period, which I really appreciated.
Inspired by QUEENBFLIX's list of favorite time travel films, I've decided to create my own list. Now, because this list is about time travel I've decided … more
