I'm looking for a reliable, flexible and quality rice cooker (5 1/2 cup size) for under $200. Zojirushi seems to be the most respected brand from the reviews and feedback I've received so far, but I am open to others. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I've been through a few rice cookers over the years and found that most don't cook the rice very well. Some would under cook the rice and others would burn it and make a bill ball of mush. I also found that the steam vent gets clogged and would create a sticky gross mess inside and outside the cooker. My husband I recieved the Zojiushi as a wedding present and we love it! It cooks the rice perfectly and is very easy to clean. The model we purchased allows for 3 cups of uncooked rice though I'm sure there are larger sizes. I would definitely recommend Zojirushi as the brand to go with...the others just can't compare.

My fiance has a Rival rice cooker that he uses at least one a week and it works great. It's a 6 cup cooker that can make rice and vegetables at the same time. It's non-stick, with a removal bowl for easy clean up. It has both cook and keep warm settings. The rice has always been perfectly cooked and we've never had a problem with it. And the best part...it's only $18.58 at Walmart. Hope that helps!

Well, I placed an order for this one today:

Aroma ARC-856 6-Cup Sensor Logic Digital Cool-Touch Rice Cooker and Food Steamer

All told it is going to cost me $54. Less than half of the others I was considering. It received good reviews so I'm going to take a chance that it will work well and last. I really would rather have purchased a Pany or Zoji model, but economic reared its ugly head. I'll be sure to review it after I've had a chance to put it through its paces. Thanks to everyone for their feedback.
